Make homemade hummus with Bakkali

A guide to a side that leaves a smile on your face.

The ingredients you will need (serves 5 people)

Main Ingredients

Quantity

Drained chickpeas

600 grams

Crushed garlic

1 clove

Juiced lemon

1 lemon

Tahini

3 tablespoons

Sea salt

Pinch or according to taste 

Olive oil

To garnish


Part 1- Blend the ingredients

  1. Drain the chickpeas
  2. Rinse the chickpeas in a colander under cold water.
  3. Tip the chickpeas into a food processor with 60ml of water.
  4. Blitz the mixture until almost smooth.
  5. Add the lemon, tahini and garlic. Blitz the mixture again.
  6. Gradually pour in 30 ml of water (if the mixture is too thick)
  7. Blitz again until the mixture is smooth.

Part 2- Serve 

  1. Season the hummus with a pinch of sea salt. 
  2. Transfer it into a bowl.
  3. Swirl the top of the hummus with the back of a spoon. It will look Instagrammable!
  4. Drizzle some olive oil on it (optional)
