Main Ingredients

Quantity

Boneless chicken thigh

800 grams

Smoked paprika

3 teaspoons

Ground Cumin

1 teaspoon

Cinnamon

Half teaspoon

Chilli flakes

According to your taste

Lemon juice

3 Tablespoons

Crushed garlic gloves

3 cloves

Salt and pepper

According to your taste

Chopped onions or bell peppers

Optional for the skewers

Part 1- Marinate the chicken

  1. Dice the chicken into bite sized pieces.
  2. Mix all of the spices, chilli flakes, lemon juice, garlic, pepper and salt.
  3. Add the diced chicken into the mixture. Coat it thoroughly.
  4. Marinate the chicken for 2-24 hours. The longer the tastier!

Part 2- Cook the chicken on the barbequ

  1.  Heat the barbeque for approximately 15 minutes.
  2. Have your skewers ready. If you own metal skewers, AWESOME! If you own wooden ones, remember to soak them in some hot water before using.
  3. Thread the chicken onto the skewers. Level up your game by alternating the meat with vegetables such as onions and bell peppers
  4. Cook the chicken on the barbeque until it is cooked through to the middle. Test if it is cooked by poking a toothpick through a piece. The juice that oozes out of the chicken should be clear, not pink or red.
  5. Turn the kebabs a few times to make sure that they are cooked evenly on all sides.

Part 3- Serve

Take the kebabs off the skewers and serve

Top tip: Serve it with your favourite sides like hummus or tahini.

You could buy Tahini from Bakkali.

Or we can teach you to make hummus!
