An affordable winter treat
It’s freezing cold outside. Are you looking to try out a warm soup for dinner?
At Bakkali, we love lentil soup for dinner.
Lentils are an excellent source of protein, especially for vegetarians.
Who says that vegetarians don't have enough protein? 🙄
Spoiler alert: It costs under £2 per serving (Yes, we did the maths!)
The ingredients you will need (serves 3 people):

- In a pan, use the vegetable oil to fry until they are translucent and soft
- To the pan, add the cumin, turmeric and garlic. You’ll know it’s cooked when you start salivating over the garlic and onion aroma.
- Now, add the lentils and stock. Let it cook for 20 minutes. Don’t forget to stir every 5 minutes.
- Add the parsley and lemon juice. Cook for another 5 minutes and don’t forget to stir!
And your dinner is done!
This entire process takes less than 40 minutes.
You can enjoy your lentil soup with rice, bread or have it by itself. It’s your choice! 😃
